Amazing DIY See-Saw.
- by Tracy
When this colorful little see saw first comes out of its box it looks more like a puzzle than a teeter totter. The Tau See Saw is perfect for the DIY parent who like to participate in the construction of their children’s toys. A template is cut into sheets of wood leaving it just slightly connected together. Once taken apart, the pieces can be easily assembled to create the toy you see here. If your child outgrows the fun the see saw can be disassembeled and stored flat for a potential younger sibling to enjoy.
A Truly Versatile Play Table.
- by Tracy
You’ll never find a more versatile play table then the one we found on Giggle.com. This table is truly amazing! The hard sturdy bent wood piece can be used as a table, a bench, a slide, a rocker-just to name a few. The list is only limited by your child’s imagination. The table comes with interchangeable play kits that can be used for storage or removed for different activities. And the soft puzzle-like pieces that come with the set interlock for spontaneous building projects. The play table is durable and easy for kids to arrange. We’re sure it will make the perfect addition to your child’s play area.
Keep Kids Entertained During Long Trips.
- by Tracy
Keeping a young child amused during a long trip can be a daunting task for any parent. Letting them watch their favorite movie on a portable dvd player can be a great way to pass the time. But players can be expensive and most are not durable enough to stand up to a few accidental drops. That’s why we think Fischer Price is on the right track with their Kid-Tough portable dvd player made especially for children. The unit is rubberized and shock and skip proof making it strong enough to handle a little abuse. The player comes with a handle so it can be carried by your preschooler and kickstand legs for hands free viewing and simple controls makes it easy for children to operate the player themselves. The Kid Tough portable dvd player is under $200 making it an affordable option for traveling families.

A Modern Indoor Playhouse.
- by Tracy
An adorable interactive playhouse creates a modern sanctuary for the urban child. Danish designer Nina Tolstrup known as Studiomama (currently based in London) has designed a space for the creative child seeking independence. The kid’s playhouse features a blackboard on one wall and and a cozy play or sleep area in the middle with round cutout windows located on each side of the house. The little space gives children the illusion of privacy while the windows allow the parents visual access to the child. This quiet space is the perfect place for busy little children to unwind in!

Smooth Wheels for Modern Tykes.
- by Tracy
Your little speed racer will be looking quite sporty on this super cool ride. The 10 Grain Small Paul URoll by West Coast designer Eric Pfeiffer is a great first bike for smaller children. The unique shape and fun patterns give the bike a distinct character, something one doesn’t find with the plastic push bikes on the market. Its wheels provide a smooth glide, making it easier for toddlers to maneuver in tight spaces and its cantilevered molded birch seat is sturdy so it can put up with a preschool pounding.
Baby Food Organizer for The Cupboard.
- by Tracy

Let’s face it, babies come with a lot of accessories. And try as they might, parents often feel they are fighting a losing battle when it comes to keeping everything your baby needs neat and organized. That’s why we love the Skip Hop Chow Organizer. With three shelves and room for up to 12 jars, it can help keep baby food jars from taking over your cupboards. It’s plastic shelves rotate independently keeping labels out so you can quickly see what’s for dinner. And parents can take pleasure in one small victory-a tidy cupboard.
Modern Dollhouses
- by Tracy
These modern dollhouses are way more glamorous then the traditional Victorian ones most of us grew up with. A new wave of companies are taking their favorite designer homes and scaling them down for the younger set to enjoy. Take a look at some of these impressive homes.
Momoll’s Villa Sibis features a movable back and front. It’s made of waxed birch plywood and acrylic glass.
Who wouldn’t want to live in this gorgeous Modern Malibu Beach House? The house has six spacious rooms, fireplace, top floor master bedroom suite with bath and dressing area and a rooftop garden! Optional are the sun lounge and rooftop jacuzzi.
Squirt, The Baby Food Dispenser.
- by Tracy
Now this looks like an interesting idea! The Squirt baby food dispenser actually does what the name suggests, squirts baby food onto a spoon. Apparently, you fill the handle with food and give it a squeeze, the food is then pushed through a slot between the spoon and the handle, ready for baby to eat. Now we have to admit we haven’t tried this product ourselves but we are intrigued by the concept. Our concern is the functionality of the product. Considering the design, we assume it’s best for thoroughly pureed food rather than the chunkier homemade kind. We’re also wondering how easy it is to clean. If it works as well as they say it could be worth considering. Although we have to admit, we’ll probably just stick with the old fashioned spoon method. If anyone has used the Squirt Baby Food Dispensing Spoon we sure would like to hear what you think of it.
